Short Biography
Luke Smith is a PhD student at the University of Warwick's Physics Department working on ultrasonic clamp-on flow measurement.
His core research interest is understanding the ultrasonic behaviour in these flow meters through the use of computational models and building flow meters for novel applications based on this understanding.
He works at both ends of the TRL scale, doing some work with the industry on commercial flowmeter development and some more foundational research on ultrasonic behaviour.
His day-to-day work is around 50% programming and 50% experimental work, and he enjoys both elements.
